Ways to make the most of your Massage Therapy session
1. If you have the time available to you, do some kind of warm up exercises or sport before the massage. The activity will warm up your body and increase your metabolism, which will in turn make your muscles more flexible and I will be able to do deeper work. You could also take a hot bath or spend some time in a sauna.
2. Drink lots of water on the day of the massage, and if possible the day after. Water will keep you hydrated, help flush your system of toxins, and may help mitigate soreness.
3. Avoid having caffeine on the day of the massage, or at least stick to some green tea. Caffeine can affect the body in a way that is counterproductive to massage, in that it can make some people nervous and jumpy and actually cause the contraction of muscles.
4. Having alcohol or drugs of any kind the day of the massage can and probably will effect the quality of the massage. Follow your best instincts, and listen to your doctor, but there is a mind-body connection and any substance you put in your body will effect the quality of your life and everything you experience, including massage therapy and energy healing.
5. Allow yourself an extra 5 minutes to arrive early for your first session in order to fill out a brief intake form. All information is completely confidential and will be viewed by myself only.
